Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use our shop. Here you can read where we stand, which barriers we know about and how to reach us.

Scope

MAUNAWAI Schweiz GmbH operates this online shop. This statement covers the entire publicly accessible shop including basket, checkout, customer account and forms, as well as our order emails and the customer PDF documents such as invoices and the withdrawal policy.

Level of compliance

This online shop is currently partially compliant with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the harmonised standard EN 301 549, which refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA. The deviations we are aware of are listed below.

Non-accessible content

We audited the shop in full in August 2026 and have fixed the majority of the barriers we found. The following areas do not yet meet the requirements:

  • Colour contrast: our buttons for purchase and sign-up carry the brand colour cyan with white type. That combination falls short of the required contrast. Together with our design team we are working on a solution that brings the brand and legibility together. Beyond that it affects a few older pages and text placed on images.
  • Labels in the checkout: for some fields the label is only shown as placeholder text inside the field and disappears as soon as you start typing. Error messages are now firmly linked to the field concerned, but the permanently visible label is still missing.
  • Media: product videos and embedded videos have neither captions nor a transcript.
  • PDF documents: invoices and the withdrawal policy now carry the correct language setting, but they are still untagged. A defined reading order and a document structure for screen readers are missing.
  • Older areas of the site: individual pages from the previous version of the shop, including press and knowledge pages as well as an older ordering process, have not been reworked yet.

Remediation continues. Colours, icons, dialogs, keyboard operation, status messages for screen readers, the form errors and the language setting in emails and PDF documents are already in place. Visible labels in the checkout, captions for videos, tagged PDF documents and the older areas of the site follow next. We will update this statement with every step.

Third-party content

Some components come from third parties and are only partly under our control: the cookie consent banner (Usercentrics), the payment forms provided by Stripe and PayPal, the Trusted Shops badge and embedded content from YouTube and Google Maps. We are reviewing these components and are raising the issues with their providers.

Report a barrier

Have you come across a barrier, or do you need information in a different format? Write to us. Your report helps us improve, and we will work with you to find a way for you to reach your goal.

Report a barrier

In the contact form the category "Report an accessibility barrier" is already preselected. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Enforcement procedure

European accessibility law does not apply in your country, so there is no market surveillance authority for it there. We publish this statement voluntarily. Your feedback still matters to us; the way to reach us is above.

How this statement was prepared

This statement is based on a self-assessment. It draws on a full review of the source code of the customer-facing area and an automated test of the main pages with the axe-core testing tool in desktop and mobile view. Testing with screen readers is still outstanding and is planned.

Prepared and last updated on 12 August 2026.
