Which water filter is right for you?
What matters most is where you want to filter your water: on the table, straight from the tap or throughout the house.
Filtered water, not just for drinking.
For body and home: in the shower and in the wash.
Safety and taste, on the go too.
In a motorhome, on a boat, on a hike and on your travels.

Which water filter suits you?
The deciding factor is not a ranking but where you want your filtered water.
On the kitchen table, no installation.
The Kini water filter jug is the easiest way to start. For a family that needs more water, there is the PiPrime gravity water filter, which also needs no connection and no electricity.
Straight from your tap.
The PiTec 2in1 sits out of sight in the cupboard under the sink, on the cold water pipe. Your tap stays as it is.
For the whole house.
The Peka sits at the mains connection and supplies the kitchen, bathroom and garden. The modules you need depend on the water analysis, which is why we advise you before we talk about price.
A filter attachment for your tap?
We don’t sell them, and we’ll tell you why: an attachment only holds a small amount of filter material. For the alternatives, see our comparison of water filters for the tap.
On the go.
Noalu for motorhomes, caravans and boats. The outdoor bottle for hiking and travel.
Mauna means mountain. Wai means water.
MAUNAWAI. Our name is our promise: water as if from a good spring, right in your own home.
Drinking water from your tap that tastes good.
-
In the morning. Coffee and tea without a taste of chlorine.
-
When cooking. Simply use the water from the jug or straight from the tap.
-
No crates. No lugging, no empties, less plastic waste.
-
No effort. Changing the cartridge: yourself, quickly, without tools.
We’ve had the MAUNAWAI water filter for 5 years now and can’t imagine our household without it. We love this fresh water quality.”
What makes us different
Learned from the spring.
In nature, rain becomes spring water on its way through sand and rock. Your tap water takes this same path in every MAUNAWAI drinking water filter, in just a few centimetres.
-
Rain
falls on the mountain and begins its journey.
-
Sand and gravel
The bad comes out, microplastics too. In our filters: the filter stage.
-
Rock
The good stays in: the minerals. In our filters: 21 mineral ceramics.
-
The spring
Water as it should be. In your kitchen.
21 mineral ceramics with PI technology, in every cartridge.
Is a water filter worth it if your tap water is good?
True. In many countries, tap water is well monitored. MAUNAWAI is not about fear of the tap. A water filter for tap water makes good water even better, up to spring water quality.

Documented
What the lab measures.
What we say about our filters, we have measured. By independent, accredited laboratories, with a test report.
Kini and PiTec 2in1
99.9%
less PFAS in the water¹
PFAS are persistent industrial chemicals that build up in the environment. The laboratory deliberately spiked water with ten PFAS and ran it through the filter.
Result: None of the ten substances was detectable afterwards.
PWU laboratory, DAkkS-accredited
For comparison: Four PFAS are considered particularly critical: PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS and PFNA. All four were included in the test.

Substances from the jug in the water²
Does the plastic of the jug release anything into the water? To find out, the Fraunhofer Institute filled the Kini with water for 10 days at 40 °C.
Milligrams per dm² · Fraunhofer IVV
Kini
EN 17093
tested to European standard³
The standard defines what a jug or gravity filter has to achieve in everyday use. An accredited testing institute tested the Kini against it:
- Material: everything that comes into contact with the water
- Filter performance: until the cartridge is changed, not just on the first day
- Everyday use: under realistic conditions of use
CE marking
Peka, for the whole house
99.2%
fewer THMs in the water⁴
THMs form when chlorine in tap water meets organic residues. In the lab, their total fell from 91.8 to 0.7 micrograms per litre.

TÜV
tested
The Peka has been tested by TÜV.
¹ Potsdamer Wasser- und Umweltlabor (PWU), DAkkS-accredited, test report H2017-05556. Test water deliberately spiked, around 8.6 µg/l in total; afterwards, every substance was below the detection limit of 0.0001 µg/l. TFA was not part of the test. ² Fraunhofer IVV, test report PA/4882/16, overall migration according to Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, limit 10 mg/dm². ³ EN 17093:2018, tested by an independent, accredited testing laboratory. ⁴ Labor für Umweltanalytik GmbH (UmLab), Kassel: total trihalomethanes 91.8 µg/l before, 0.7 µg/l after; limit 50 µg/l (DE).
What no lab measures.
How water tastes and whether it comes close to the water of a good spring is not in any test report. For us, good water is more than the sum of its measured values.

What customers ask us before buying
Which water filter is right for me?
That depends on where you want to filter: on the table, the Kini or the PiPrime; straight from the tap, the PiTec 2in1; throughout the house, the Peka; on the go, the Noalu or the outdoor bottle. The overview above will help you choose.
Is a water filter worth it?
In many countries, tap water is well monitored, so a filter is usually not necessary. It makes sense if you want more: water without a taste of chlorine, less limescale in the kettle where limescale protection is built in, less PFAS where they occur regionally, and drinking water without carrying crates.
What does a water filter remove?
That depends on the filter. With MAUNAWAI, the bad comes out and the good stays in: microplastics come out, and with Kini and PiTec 2in1 also over 99.9% of the ten PFAS substances tested, measured at a DAkkS-accredited laboratory. The minerals stay in.
Does a water filter also filter out minerals?
That depends on the method. Reverse osmosis removes the minerals along with the pollutants. At MAUNAWAI, the mineral ceramics leave in what belongs in the water. Built-in limescale protection removes some of the calcium and magnesium and binds the rest so that it no longer forms deposits.
Jug or under-sink?
The jug needs no installation and fits into any kitchen. The under-sink filter delivers filtered water straight from your tap, with no refilling.
How often do I change the cartridge?
For the Kini, every two to three months, for the PiTec 2in1 about once a year. The intervals for the other systems are given on each product page.
How do I keep a water filter clean?
Change the cartridge in good time, clean the filter regularly and keep a filter jug in the fridge. If the water has been standing for a while, let it run until it comes out noticeably cooler.
Do I need a plumber for a whole-house water filter?
Yes. The Peka is installed on the main supply pipe, and a specialist firm takes care of that.
Try it for yourself.
You will notice the difference best side by side with the water from your tap.
