protection MAUNAWAI® limescale protection uses ceramic granules with a specially coded surface to initiate the process of heterogeneous catalysis.
A similar process can be observed in nature in mussels and corals. Tap water flows around the granules. Within seconds, small "seed crystals" measuring just a few
ten-thousandths of a millimeter automatically form on the granule surface.
These crystals immediately break off to make room for new ones. The seed crystals floating in the water are carried into all pipes and connected appliances.
They trap the lime, preventing it from adhering anywhere in the treated water. The chemical composition
of the water remains unchanged.Chemical-free limescale protection is a recognized biotechnology.Since 2009, EU Standard EN 1988-20, Section 12.7 (Technical Rules for Drinking Water Installations) has stipulated that limescale protection devices using seed crystallization are approved
for drinking water installations and comply with the state of the art. Methods based on seed crystallization meet the requirements of the “General Rules of Technology.” Water flow rate: 8–10 l/min.
